We tried to use Customer.io but we felt that it lacked on the user interface.

Customer.io is a great tool. It’s awesome for managing emails, and for creating personalized emails, thanks to its Liquid language support.

With automation, segmentation, and drip campaigns, Customer.io provides a lot of features necessary for Opternative’s robust email campaigns. The one downside, it lacks customizable stats and analytics reports.

We use Customer.io for general announcements, and it’s been sufficient for us so far.

For us, email marketing is key. It gives us the ability to reach prospects and customers to provide value, develop relationships and convert business. When it comes to email, we’ve done our best to keep costs low and our return high. We leverage Customer.io and AWeber to facilitate our campaigns: We use Customer.io for user campaigns, and one of its main benefits is its detailed list segmentation. Customer.io gives us the ability to keep communications timely and personalized. It allows us to segment our users based on actions they take in real time so that we can trigger hyper-relevant content. With this tool, we communicate with people who have created accounts, are paying customers and/or are past customers.

As with any email marketing tool, Customer.io has a lot of useful data, including mobile data, that resides in the tool itself. This is a crucially important element in analyzing the activity of my users. Customer.io also integrates directly with Segment, so we send this data forward to our others tools, which then helps us build successful marketing funnels, drip emails, retargeting and smart growth hacking, in general. In the end, we come out with fantastic, customized drip campaigns--Customer.io has some great templating options. There are some tools out there that are better than Customer.io, but they’re 10 times the price.

We use Customer.io to send out behavior-driven emails, like when we think a customer might need help with something. We integrated it with Segment to do quite a bit of our email marketing.

Customer.io is very customizable and great for transactional emails. It's more of a developer-type email--it takes a long time to set up.
We use Customer.io for some of our trigger emails. It will send an email to someone who's just attended a certain event, or it can be based on someone who's been inactive for 30 days.

We thought we’d grown out of Customer.io, but we've been frustrated with every other provider, so we stuck with them. They're good for companies of all sizes, and I'd recommend them to anyone.
