Intuit Payroll has been phenomenal. The dashboard is super helpful. It’s easy to pay people and track everything. We switched from Paychex because it was a little too expensive. The dashboard in Paychex didn’t make us loyal to the brand.

Paychex handles a lot of our HR benefits as well as payroll. It’s a fairly large company, so you can see all that they offer.

Paychex - Best HR Tools for Startups

Paychex is firmly rooted in the payroll space, though it has over time augmented its offerings and become a full-fledged PEO. That said, most users in the Stacklist community utilize Paychex for only their payroll needs. Its user interface is not great, especially compared to ZenPayroll’s user interface. One perk is access to dedicated and consistent HR assistance for companies who don’t have an experienced HR manager. Paychex prides itself on assigning an HR manager to each client versus other PEOs who direct customers to 800 numbers for support.

How startups use Paychex?

The software tends to be favored by small- and mid-sized companies that are looking to outsource some or all of their HR tasks, and who appreciate the hands-on support of a dedicated HR professional.
